1) You’ll never look like the girl on insta or in the magazine’s. That girl doesn’t even look like herself.
2) The latest pill, cleanse or detox is still not going to give you the body it promises. Don’t waste your money on it.
3) Just because someone on Insta is in shape, it doesn’t mean you should listen to their advice for yourself. They may have got to where they are in spite of their training and nutrition strategy, not because of it.
4) HIIT workouts – They aren’t new and they aren’t the “secret”, but they are a useful training tool. Just don’t rely on them exclusively.
5) Water is still the cheapest, best and most widely available “supplement” there is. Drink more.
6) Spinach, kale, avocados and rocket are still disgusting in 2018. Let’s not pretend otherwise.
7) Our sitting or standing posture or our sleeping position will more likely be the cause of pains and injuries than an accident or poor technique. If you’re out of position 8 – 16 hours each day it doesn’t matter how strong your core is. There will be consequences.
8 ) Cheap gym memberships only encourage members to skip them because there’s no real financial consequence if they don’t go. If everyone turned up who had membership there’d be no room or equipment.
9) There’s more information available today than ever about exercise and nutrition yet our society has more health problems as a result of inactivity than ever before.
10) Intermittent fasting, Keto, Anabolic, Atkins, Zone, Mediterranean or South Beach diet … What will make any of them successful is a calorie deficit. That’s it. There’s no sorcery involved.
